Effective, Monday, January 10th, the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation is offering firms the ability to automate Give-up processing via MQM using the TREX record format. The following is an overview of the Give-up API design: 1. The TREX record format and MQM communication protocol will be used by firms to send messages to BOTCC® to allocate, claim, reject, release and change or delete allocations and claims, and BOTCC will send a confirmation back to the firms for each of these actions. 2. BOTCC will send an allocation or claim record for processing by the firm’s bookkeeping system for each of the above actions performed online. 3. BOTCC will send a record/message to the allocating firm for the marking of a trade for give-ups or for changing the quantity on a give-up summary record. 4. BOTCC will send alerts to the allocating firm for claims and rejects by the claiming firm. 5. BOTCC will send alerts to the claiming firm for allocations, releases, deletes, and changes by the allocating firm. 6. BOTCC will send error messages for example in cases of invalid firm/origin, invalid TREX format, summary record not found, and trying to accept and sub-allocate more than is allocated. Messages generated via the API will be transmitted to firms MQM queues every 2 minutes. The TREX format updated for the Give-up API along with sample messages were detailed in Volume 19 – Bulletin #212.
