The CBOT® 5-Year Agency Note Contract Salient Features

The starting date for pit trading in The Chicago Board of Trade CBOT 5-Year Agency Note Futures and Options Contract will be Wednesday, May 3, 2000. On Sunday, May 7, 2000, the 5-Year Agency Note Futures and Options Contract will begin trading on Afternoon and Overnight Project A®. On Monday, May 8, 2000, the 5-Year Agency Note Futures Contract will also trade Side-by-Side. The 5-Year Agency Note Options contract will be pit traded and available for trading during the Afternoon and Overnight Project A sessions. The 5-Year Agency Note Futures Contract will be eligible for differential spreads. Contract specifications and trading information are detailed below.

Seventh business day preceding the last business day of the delivery month. The expiring contract ceases trading at 12:00 noon CST on the last day of trading

Spot and aggregate limits of 5,000 contracts.

Reportable Positions:

Reportable limit of 100 contracts.

Delivery Standards:

Non-callable Fannie Mae Benchmark Notes and Freddie Mac Reference Notes with 4 years to 5 years 3

months remaining maturity (original maturity not

greater than 5 years 3 months),original issuance of

$3 billion or greater, and with semi-annual fixed

coupon payments.

 

Calculation of invoice price at settlement:

Invoice Price=(Futures Settlement Price x Conversion Factor) + Accrued Interest.

 

The conversion factor is the price per $1 of a security with a $1 original principal value that yields 6%.

Exercise:

A buyer of a futures option may exercise the option on any business day that the option is traded.
