New Broker Inquiry Terminals On Trading Floor
As of early November 2001, the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation has been installing new Broker Trade Inquiry Terminals on the Trading Floor.
What’s Different?
1. The most obvious difference is the size. The new terminals use flat–panel monitors, which are much thinner.
2. The new terminals use “PC”-style keyboards. They have only 12 function keys across the top row. These keyboards also include a “touchpad”-type mouse that will be utilized in future applications.
How Are the Keyboards Mapped Differently?
The alphabet keys are exactly the same. The other main keys used to check trades are as follows:
Old Terminal Key
New Terminal Key
Enter
“Enter” on Number Keypad
Scroll Down
“Enter” key
Clear
“Pause/Break” key
Reset
Left “Ctrl” key
Will I Have to Do Anything Different to Check My Trades?
No. The new terminals are configured to display a Member Inquiry System sign-on screen. The commands to enter, view or edit trades trades, and exit the application will be the same.
What Future Applications Will Be Used With These Terminals?
As the Clearing Corporation moves forward with its initiatives to deliver more browser-based applications, these terminals will allow users to access these tools from the trading floor. Soon, members will be able to view their ATOMŽ statements via our Reports on the Web system.
A BSG representative will be available on the trading floor between the Grain Floor and the Trade Checking Area on Tuesday, November 20; Monday, November 26; and Tuesday, November 27, between the hours of 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. to assist users with the new terminals. Please see the attached document for general instructions on how to use the Member Inquiry Application.
