Supersession/3270 Session Management Tool
|
Beginning July 23, 2001, the Clearing Corporation will begin rolling out a new 3270 session management tool called Supersession. Users will be given three of each of the following sessions; OTIS, INFOPAC, GAINS and ATOM (identified as OTIS1, OTIS2, OTIS3…). Supersession will allow users to open multiple OTIS and other applications such as INFOPAC (for example two OTIS sessions or one OTIS and two INFOPAC sessions). Users will be able to toggle back and forth between sessions. Users can also customize the Main Selection Menu by deleting sessions they do not need (see training document at the www.botcc.com website for details).
The Main Selection Menu will list the status of open sessions so that users can keep track of what they have open at any time. Supersession also allows users to log off of the 3270 emulation and keep their applications such as OTIS and INFOPAC open. This new feature saves time when users log on again.
Please refer to the Supersession training document available on the www.botcc.com web page to familiarize yourself with signing onto Supersession and accessing the new features. Your firm will be contacted by the Clearing Corporation’s Business Systems Group to schedule a presentation detailing the advantages of Supersession and to inform you of the date your firm will be converted.
Also, please note that, starting July 23, 2001, Supersession will be used as the session management tool for 3270 emulation via the web. Beginning that day firms will see three sessions of each choice (as noted above) when they access 3270 emulation from the Clearing Corporation webpage at www.botcc.com. Firms are encouraged to access 3270 emulation via the webpage to familiarize themselves with Supersession prior to their presentation.
