Effective Friday, October 25, 2002, the Chicago Board of Trade’s Municipal Bond Index will be replaced with a new contract, to be known as the 10 Year Municipal Note Index. The new contract will be introduced on October 25, 2002 with the March 2003 contract reflecting the new underlying securitization. The commodity code (42) will be assumed by the new contract. All other technical contract specifications will remain the same.
PLEASE NOTE: During the period October 25, 2002 through December 19, 2002, both the new and the old contracts will trade concurrently. The name of the contract will read “Municipal Bond/Note Index”. The full name change will take effect with the expiration of the December 2002 contract.
