Trade Management Record ID Ranges
|
With the implementation of the New Trade Management (NTM) System during the second quarter of 2003, the ACT™ and NTM applications will assign five-digit record IDs with shared ranges. Listed below is a table that portrays the current OTIS record ID range and the new NTM / ACT record ID range. Currently, firms are allowed to send duplicate record IDs for futures and options trades (e.g. record ID 20,000 could exist as both an option and a futures record).
Firms are reminded that a futures and options record with the identical record id will not be allowed after NTM is implemented. Trades with duplicate record IDs will be rejected by NTM.

Firms will assign their record IDs starting with 1 and ending at a firm-defined upper limit, the default being 49,999. NTM / ACT will assign record IDs starting at the firm-defined upper limit plus 1 (the default being 49,999 + 1 = 50,000). Example: If the firm-defined upper limit is 29,999, NTM / ACT will begin assigning record IDs at 30,000 (29,999 + 1) and continue through to ID 74,999, then skip to 80,000 and assign to 89,999 before rolling over to 30,000. NTM / ACT records will have to be unique across all transaction types.
Firms requesting a specific firm assigned record ID range must contact CSS, otherwise your existing futures default will be used. More information on the New Trade Management system will be published as the implementation date approaches.
