TRADE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM BACK-OUT / RECOVERY PLAN FOR PROCESSING OF ETS AND PIT TRANSACTIONS

Due to Trade Management system problems, Trade entry, inquiry, and update functionality will be backed out and migrated to the OTIS System. Due to the migration, firms should be aware of the following:

• Today’s business will be completed on the New Trade Management system. This includes all trade register data files, pay/collect, matched and unmatched reports, etc.

• Final clearing processing for Tuesday, May 13, 2003 will begin at 7:00PM. There is no final clearing extension due to early trade checking. No extensions beyond 7:00 PM will be granted. The migration to OTIS will begin shortly thereafter.

• Beginning tomorrow at approximately 4:30 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2003, OTIS and ACTTM will be targeted to be available for trade entry, trade inquiry and update, along with give-up functionality.

• In an effort to help clear up out trades, match cycles will run periodically beginning at 5:00AM.

• MQM messages, API messages, ETS and SLED duplications, from Tuesday night for Wednesday’s business dated May 14th, will be held and not released until approximately 4:30AM on Wednesday, May 14th.

• Remaining unmatched trades after final processing on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 will be reloaded into OTIS with their original trade ID. These trades will be available for update on Wednesday, May 14, 2003. Firms using bookkeeping systems to submit add change and delete messages to prior day transactions can continue to do so after the system switchover.

• Firms will be required to submit offset positions for Dow Fungible as normal type ‘7’ adjustment using 990 as opposing firm. Additionally, type ‘7’ adjustments will be processed through OTIS using the dual entry process.
