Member Firm End-to-End Testing for Phase One Clearing Transition
|
To help firms prepare for the transition of the Chicago Board of Trade’s (CBOT) clearing services to the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), The Clearing Corporation (CCorp) will participate in end-to-end testing with the CBOT, CME and member firms. End-to-end testing has been scripted by the CBOT and will replicate six business days of activity over a three-week period. These end-to-end tests should allow firms to verify their ability to submit trade data and data files to the appropriate destination as well as receive them for clearing processing. The transition of clearing to the CME, begins Monday, November 24, 2003 and ends on Wednesday, December 31, 2003.
The CBOT will be coordinating end-to end testing with member firms, CME and CCorp. The CBOT will also provide each firm with a detailed test script prior to the test dates. Test cycles are as follows:

Test Objective (Firm trade submission and Reconciliation/Balancing) – This cycle will allow firms to test their ability to submit adds, changes, and deletes to pit transactions for CBOT products that will clear at the CME and CCorp during the first transition phase as well as reconcile them.

Test Objective (Option Expiration) – Test cycle two will be expanded to include option expiration processing. This cycle will allow firms to test their ability to submit adds, changes, deletes, exercise, exercise cancellation, and OTM exercise instructions for CBOT products that will clear at the CME and CCorp during the first transition phase as well as reconcile them.

Test Objectives (Post Expiration) – This cycle will build on the previous two cycles by allowing firms to test their ability to reconcile changes to expiring options as well as exercise, and assignment instructions for CBOT products that will clear at the CME and CCorp during the first transition phase.

Firms will be submitting and receiving test transactions via CCorp’s MQM test queues: CHTD.MQ.XX.F###***.TRADOUT and CHTD.MQ.XX.F###***.TRADIN

Additionally, after each simulated business date, a test trade register report will be produced and made available in Infopac titled Daily Trade and Position Register – CBOT Transition Testing (Report ID – CLR00234B) along with a test trade register data file (FTP File Name – CHTD.TR.CBT###. REGDOUT), which can be accessed through the firm’s FTP directory.

Firm users who will be participating in transition testing and need access to the OTIS Trade Entry test environment should contact their Client Services and Support Representative in order to receive access. Setup time will require three-business days notice.
