Verification of ATOM Tax Data
|
The Board of Trade Clearing Corporation is preparing for ATOMŽ 2002 TEFRA processing. As part of this preparation the Clearing Corporation provides brokers the opportunity to review taxpayer addresses and identification numbers maintained in the ATOM system. It is important that you verify tax information in the ATOM system before it is reported to the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). To verify the W-9 information maintained in the ATOM system, the Clearing Corporation has produced a special broker tax information report:
BFR00061B - Broker Tax Data Confirmation
This report was first available at the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation, Suite 1460, on Thursday, December 5, 2002. This report will also be available via Document Direct on the web for brokers that currently have access to this information. If brokers do not have access to reports on the web, they can sign up at www.botcc.com through the ‘Distribution of Broker Activity and ATOM Reports’ link.
To update or change tax information, you will be required to complete a new W-9 form. These forms are available at the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation, Suite 1460. All changes must be received prior to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15, 2003. This report – BFR00061 Broker Tax Data Confirmation report – was available on January 7, 2003. Brokers should drop off updates to their tax information at the Board of Trade Clearing Corporation, Suite 1460.
