Eurex US Implementation Overview

The Clearing Corporation is pleased to announce that the Eurex US exchange will begin trading on Sunday, February 8, 2004. In an effort to prepare all firms for the launch of the new exchange, the Clearing Corporation has compiled the following information for quick reference. Additional information can be found in the Eurex US section of the Clearing Corporation website.

Eurex US Launch Timeline

 

Sunday, February 8, 2004:

   

• Trading for Eurex US will begin at 7:00 p.m. CST (for trade date February 9, 2004).

     
 

Monday, February 9, 2004:

   

• Trading for trade date February 9, 2004 will end at 4:00 p.m. CST.

• SPAN Arrays and Settlement Price files will be available between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.

• The Clearing Corporation final reconciliation is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.

• Trading for trade date Tuesday, February 10, 2004 will begin at 7:00 p.m.

• A trade register (CLR00234D1) and FTP register data file (CHPD.TR.CBT***.REGDOUT, where *** represents the firm number) will be available at approximately 8:30 p.m.

• 30-Year Treasury Bond Futures/Options

   

• Commodity Code: US
Trading hours: 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (CST)

 

• 10-Year Treasury Note Futures/Options

   

• Commodity Code: U1
Trading hours: 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (CST)

 

• 5-Year Treasury Note Futures/Options

   

• Commodity Code: U5
Trading hours: 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (CST)

 

• 2-Year Treasury Note Future/Options

   

• Commodity Code: U2
Trading hours: 7:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. (CST)

     

Clearing Applications

 

Use the Trade Management system to:

   

• Inquire on trades

• Update trades (change account, origin, or CTI)

• Mark trades as give-ups

• Inquire on EFP or EFS transactions

• Request a preliminary bookkeeping or matched trade report

 

Use the ACT® system to:

   

• Allocate or claim give-up trades

• Enter give-up memo add trades (including memo adds with average price information

• Enter, allocate, or claim transfer transactions

 

Use the Position Management system to:

   

• View or adjust Open Interest submissions

• Enter an intra-firm position adjustment

 

Use OTIS® to:

   

• Enter or inquire on an option exercise

• View or enter Large Trader reporting information

• Delivery long position reporting, tender submission, and invoicing

 

Use Infopac or Online Reports to:

   

• View clearing reports (trade register, GAINS® reports, etc.). Click here for a detailed list of all available reports.

     

Large Trader Overview

 

• Large trader submission requirements have not changed. Firms will continue to submit their Large Trader files via FTP: CHPD.TR.CBT***.LGTRIN

• Positions can be verified in OTIS, or by retrieving the Large Trader message (CHPD.TR.CBT***.LGTRMSG) or report (CHPD.TR.CBT***.LGTRRPT) files.

     

Open Interest Overview

 

The Clearing Corporation has implemented a new web-based Position Management system, which has replaced the Open Interest reporting screens on OTIS. Firms can use the new system to make adjustments to final reported positions prior to final open interest, perform intra-day position adjustments, and intra-day transfers. The system can also be used to enter end-of-day position records rather than submitting a daily FTP file.

   

• Final Open Interest file (CHPD.TR.CBT***.LINTIN) due by 8:00 p.m.

• Firm can use the Position Management system to verify positions any time after 7:15 p.m.

• Adjustments to Final Open Interest due by 10:00 a.m on the following business day.

• Position adjustments can be made during the day, between 10:15 a.m. and 7:00 p.m.

• Intra-firm Position Adjustments are due by final processing at 7:00 p.m.

     

MQ Messaging Information

 

Firms should note that Eurex US trading begins at 7:00 p.m. (CST) and the clearing final is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m. (CST) Monday through Friday, MQ messages will be available from clearing approximately 1 1/2 hours after final processing begins.

     

For those firms still testing…
