FIA Industry-Wide Disaster Recovery Test
|
In our continuing effort to provide seamless trade processing capability to our clearing participants in the event of a disaster, The Clearing Corporation (CCorp) is pleased to announce its participation in the FIA Industry-Wide Disaster Recovery test scheduled for Saturday, October 9, 2004.
October 9, 2004 FIA Industry Wide Disaster Recovery Test
As part of the industry-wide test, CCorp will provide the following clearing services from its disaster recovery site, beginning at 8:00AM and continuing through 1:00PM Central Standard Time / 9:00AM through 2:00PM Eastern Standard Time, to help firms test their preparedness in the event that CCorp needs to relocate to its DR site.
ETS Trade Confirmations
Participants will have the ability to test receiving ETS trade confirmations from CCorp’s Disaster Recovery (DR) site via MQM or through use of the file transfer via the Internet process. To replicate trading through Eurex US, CCorp will send four scripted transactions to each firm that has requested to receive Eurex US ETS confirmations messages.
For disaster recovery testing with the CBOE Futures Exchange (CFE) please contact their API Testing Group at (312) 786-7300.
CCorp Applications
Please note: CCorp will be operating from its DR location; therefore all data entered into the DR clearing system will be deleted. Firms that receive data from this test to their production system should take precautions not to process disaster recovery transactions with production data.
The following applications will be available through CCorp’s DR site for participants to access:
• The ACT® System
• Web-based Pay/Collect
• Position Management
• Trade Management
• 3270 via the Internet
• OTIS®
It is important to note that the CCorp logo, which appears on upper left-hand side of the CCorp home page at www.clearingcorp.com, will be highlighted in red. This will allow firms to verify that they are accessing CCorp’s web applications through CCorp’s DR site. Additionally, in order to insure functionality, The ACT and Trade Management systems will contain all give-up and trade data as of 5:00PM, Friday, October 8, 2004. Users can inquire and/or update transactions through either application. All relevant GAPI and GUI confirmation messages will be produced and sent to the firm’s queues.
Change and GAPI Messaging
Firms using their primary customer network connection can submit change and/or GAPI messages via MQM to CCorp’s DR site, either for scripted Eurex US and CFE trades or for the previous day’s give-up and trade data as/of 5:00PM, Friday October 8, 2004 reloaded into the ACT System and/or Trade management for the purpose of DR testing. Participants that have relocated to a back-up site can submit change and/ or GAPI messages through use of the file transfer via the Internet process.
Retrieve or Submit Data Files FTP
Firms can test performing an FTP ‘Get’ and/or ‘Put’ in order to retrieve and/or submit data files. CCorp will make production data files from Friday, October 8, 2004 available for firms to retrieve through the CCorp DR site. Firms are not required to test the FTP process. Firms should be aware that an FTP ‘Put’ file submitted during the scheduled Disaster Recovery Test which was originally intended for production will not be processed and included as part of Monday, October 10, 2004 business activity.
Printing
Firms can use the following options to test the printing of clearing reports through CCorp’s DR site:
• Infopac
• Reports via the Internet (Document Direct)
• Report packages via FTP
