SUBJECT:

Global Clearing Link Phase I Trade Register Enhancements

The Clearing Corporation (CCorp) has updated the trade register report format to better reflect the detail associated with trades that are executed through an all electronic exchange. With the implementation of Phase 1 of the Global Clearing Link, the new version of the trade register report (CLR00234F) is available through Infopac and also can be routed automatically to a firm’s print queue. Current versions of the final trade register will continue to be produced with plans to phase them out in the future.

With the introduction of the new trade register report format, clearing participants that maintain divisions (NCMs) will have the option of receiving separate trade registers for the parent firm as well as each of its division, thus keeping activity segregated by firm ID. Another option will allow for the merging of each division’s activity into that of the parent firm’s in order to create one master trade register report.

A test version of the new trade register report format is currently available in Infopac. Firms that are currently participating in simulation can review the new format (Infopac ID CLR00234XX). It is also important to note that the trade register data file will remain unchanged; the enhancements to the trade register outlined in this bulletin only affect the printed version of the trade register report.
