SUBJECT:

Eurex US Simulation / Testing Procedures and Calendar

Eurex US simulation is currently in the Open Simulation phase (Phase 3). In Phase 3, the simulation system is available to all traders, front office vendors, clearing participants, and back office vendors. This phase will continue until January 28, 2004.

Eurex US Simulation Test Guidelines

• The clearing participant should submit the test request form to The Clearing Corporation two business days prior to the test day. The test request form can be accessed at the EurexUS/TestForm.pdf. The clearing participant can test MQM, GAPI, FTP (Reg data, SPAN®, and settlement). Firms need to specify the type of testing they will be doing. For example, will they be sending in MQM change records, will they need confirm messages, and will they be looking for GAPI messages?

• The clearing participant should indicate on the request form whether it wants to receive the register data file. Note that the naming convention for the register data file will be: “CHTD.TR.CBT***.REGDOUT”

• Firms wishing to access trade data in the simulation (SM) system using NTM and ACT® should provide CSS with a user ID prior to testing. This will enable CCorp to ensure that the user has access to the SIMULATION (SM) environment for NTM and ACT.

Simulation Guidelines

• The clearing participants, along with the Eurex US traders, should determine when they will participate in Eurex US simulation.

• In Eurex US simulation, an order entered can be matched against any other order in the trading system. To ensure that your order is matched, firms are encouraged to submit orders taking the opposite side of their trade.

• CCorp will process all Eurex US trades executed by clearing participants and all traders conducting simulation trading. Clearing participants will receive TREX messages, if requested, via MQM real-time except during CCorp end of day processing (between start of session and 9:00 am through January 15th) and during weekends when processing is suspended.

• Focus days are scheduled to highlight certain trading activities. Eurex US Market Supervision will ensure appropriate market depth on these days in the respective focused products. Information regarding focus days can be found on the Eurex US web site in the Member Section.

• At the completion of CCorp end of day processing (approximately 9:00 am until January 16, then approximately 9:00 pm), register data files will be produced for firms that have requested the register data file. A simulation trade register report will also be produced at the same time for all firms that have simulation trade data.

• Firms can access simulation trade register report via production Infopac. The report is “CLR00234XX - EUREX SIMULATION DAILY TRADE AND POSITION REGISTER.” Other than trade registers, no other reports will be supported during simulation.

• The Eurex US simulation calendar can be found at: Eurex US Simulation Calendar

Position Deletion in Eurex US Simulation

To assist firms in conducting point balancing testing, CCorp will delete positions in simulation during end of day processing on January 5, 7, 9, 12, 14, 16, 22, and 26, 2004. This means that the next register data file received for each of these days will not contain any previous position data.

Test File Alternatives

Firms/vendors will have the ability to test outside of the simulation system. Customer Support has a script of trades that can put out on the test system (ST), and the test MQM. They can submit change records to these trades and test GAPI. Firms should indicate the type of messages and testing that they wish to do. A register data file can be created, and the SPAN array and settlement file will be available via FTP but will be produced out of the end of day processing for simulation. The ST test environment will also be used for firms that wish to test large trader, delivery long positions, option processing, and open interest.

Clearing participants who want to expand their testing to include GAPI messages should contact CSS. Trades executed in Eurex US simulation and marked as give-up will be loaded to the ST ACT environment. Firms can then submit allocation and claim transactions using GAPI messaging or the ACT GUI. The resulting GAPI messages will then be sent to the firm’s test queue.

Note that clearing participants may need to change some field content, such as account number, CTI and origin, prior to processing.
