|
Eurex has announced that the electronic trading and clearing systems will be upgraded to version 10.0. The launch of the release is planned for November, 2007. The 10.0 release will be available in simulation beginning September 17. Highlights of the new release applicable to Eurex Global Clearing Link participants are described below.
• Order ID and Trade ID Enhancements – these fields will be redefined to be alpha/numeric. The length of the fields will not change. This will allow for a greater number of orders and trades.
• Persistent/Non-Persistent Orders and Quotes – persistency provides reloading of orders automatically in case of system outage. The down side is that there is an impact on system performance at firm site. Non-persistency feature will now be provided.
• Pre-Trade Risk Protection – firm can define limits for individual trader subgroups:
o Maximum order size
o Order frequency within time interval
o Limit quantity of working orders/quotes
• Stop Button Facility – firms will have the capability to:
o Reject order and quote entry
o All open orders and quotes deleted
o Trade or position adjustments will be rejected.
o GU activity pending transactions can’t be approved by counterparty
• Firm can perform functions, such as Pre-Trade Risk Protection, by product or by product group. Currently product groups are not defined.
• Eurex can now HALT immediately a contract with no open interest.
• Client Order Identification – firms can assign user order reference numbers to orders.
• Change of Default Password – release 10.0 will no longer support the use of a default password. Members will be required to change the password during the first logon to the Eurex system.
